2 WVU starters questionable for Saturday opener
Friday, September 03, 2010

Starting West Virginia University senior linebacker Pat Lazear and starting senior safety Sidney Glover are both listed as questionable for Saturday's opener against Coastal Carolina.

Lazear continues to fight back from a leg bruise he sustained when he was accidentally leg-whipped by a teammate in drills a few weeks ago. If he can't play, redshirt freshman Branko Busick would start.

Glover has a hamstring injury and, if he is unable to go, would most likely be replaced in the starting lineup by redshirt freshman Darwin Cook.

An injury status release is something the Big East Conference instituted for its football teams this season. Two days before a team plays, it must report to the conference the status of injured players and group them into four categories: Probable, Questionable, Doubtful or Out.

Here is West Virginia's full injury report:

Probable

Shawne Alston, RB Knee

Questionable

Sidney Glover, DB Hamstring

Tripp Hale, DB Hamstring

Pat Lazear, LB Knee/Tibia

Chris Snook, FB Neck

Brad Starks, WR Groin

Out For Season

Nick Kindler, OL Shoulder
